Marketing Plan for Week #7
Data from the last few weeks reveal how frequent updates impact positively on downloads, visibility and monetization. Due to this reason, we've started to work on a new version of the game which is expected to be released in 4-6 weeks. Although the sprint backlog is still open, that new version will surely include more levels (with new challenges) and some other improvements.
Moreover, we're thinking about changing our advertising provider and moving from Admob to another one with better eCPM, but no decision has been made yet.
1. Downloads. This split bar chart shows downloads per week.
- One more week, we can see how both downloads and requests are running out of steam. As a result, there have been less ad-clicks and we've earned less money. It's also curious to see how the downloads graph for Week #5, #6 and #7 looks pretty much like the one for Week #1, #2 and #3.
- On wednesday 24th we saw how ad requests plummeted from 20K to 700. Something similar happened on Thursday 25th. We couldn't find a reasonable explanation for such a sharp plunge. Fortunately Admob has sent today the solution to the puzzle: "AdMob recently experienced technical difficulties processing data for the period 8/23/2011 to 8/25/2011. Ad requests and Impressions on these dates may be inaccurate. We are currently reprocessing the log files for this period and expect the correct data will be available in the next several days."
- According to the Android Market stats, users of 1.0.1 version only reported 3 errors in the last three weeks whereas 1.0 version generated around 40 in a similar period of time. Even though we will continue to improve the quality of the game, version 1.0.1 is a great step forward.
That's all for now.
